CLEAN SWEEP



— For the first time in its history, Central Amherst Little League completed a sweep of the New York State Little League District 1 Baseball Tournament, winning the age 10-12, 9-11, and 8-10 brackets. Each team advances to New York State sectional play that includes teams from the Rochester area and the Southern Tier. The age 10-12 sectional is in Batavia; the age 9-11 sectional is in Penfield; and the age 8-10 sectional is in Fredonia. Winners of the sectional tournaments advance to the state tournament. The state champion in the 10-12 division advances to the Mid-Atlantic Regional, leading to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
