East Amherst resident starts own company

Paul Maurer Paul Maurer A veteran of nearly 34 years in marketing has started his own marketing and advertising company. Paul Maurer, a resident of East Amherst, is now principal of PDM Marketing & Media Inc., which he launched in March.

“I decided that my four decades of work in electronic media and working with advertising clients and the press has more than prepared me for this next phase in my life,” Maurer said.

In May 1985, Maurer embarked on a career in radio that included roles as account executive, national sales manager, general sales manager and retail sales executive. His work has earned him awards at Taft Broadcasting, Rich Communications, Mercury Broadcasting, Citadel Communications and Entercom Communications.

During his tenure at Citadel Broadcasting, Maurer founded the organization Re-Tree Western New York, which still is reforesting the Buffalo area from the October 2006 snowstorm.

“My new company will focus on advertising programs and event marketing, and I have been involved in some of these activities already,” he said.

Maurer has prepared creative strategy and executed events for a local division of a national automotive manufacturer; coordinated three real estate tours with more than two dozen developers and sponsors; and is representing several nonprofits that are looking to expand their base business in Western New York.

He is also on the boards of The Buffalo Green Fund, The World Weather Center, The Chestnut Ridge Park Conservancy and Port-of-Call Buffalo, which is presenting the largest tall ships event in Buffalo’s waterfront history July 3-7, 2019.

Maurer and his wife, Donna, have a son and daughter. For more information on the company, visit www.PDMMarketingMedia.com.
