Williamsville resident earns volunteer award

The Greater Niagara Frontier Council of the Boy Scouts of America awarded Williamsville resident Ginny Conway with the Silver Beaver Award at its recent volunteer recognition dinner.

The Silver Beaver Award is the highest award a local council can bestow on a volunteer for rendering outstanding service to Scouting.

Established in 1931, the Silver Beaver Award is presented for distinguished service to young people within a BSA local council upon approval of the National Court of Honor.

Conway is the crew adviser for Venturing Crew 457, assistant scoutmaster in Troop 457 and a member of the Northeast Region Area 3 Camp Accreditation Team.

Prior to joining Troop 457 in 2008, she held several leadership roles in Cub Scout Pack 619. She also served as an assistant scoutmaster at the 2013 and 2017 National Scout Jamborees.
