Bee Heard

.I must disagree completely with The Bee’s recent editorial urging residents to support the upcoming school budget. School board members are in the pockets of the teachers’ union, which means they don’t care how the budget affects our community. Teachers work 38 weeks a year, and most of them make more than the average salary of Western New Yorkers. Add in their benefits and perks, and taxpayers should be furious. The Sweet Home, Amherst and Williamsville school budgets add up to $329 million, and while school budgets increase, the number of students have decreased.

.The patch job on Hopkins Road between Maple Road and Sheridan Drive is disgraceful. Who is responsible for that mess? It is rough and uneven with visible ruts down the lane.

.As an Amherst resident with solar panels, I would like to thank all my fellow taxpayers for giving me the opportunity to help save Mother Earth for future generations to enjoy.

.I would like to thank the irresponsible dog owners who take their dogs to the Williamsville North turf and track and fields and let their dogs poop all over the place. Now you’ve ruined it for the rest of us responsible dog owners, because they are no longer going to allow any dogs in the area. Thank you for ruining it for the rest of us.
