WSHS 10-year reunion slated Nov. 24

The 10-year reunion for Williamsville South High School’s class of 2007 will take place from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, at the Irishmen Pub and Eatery, 5601 Main St., Williamsville. Beechwood Service Guild sets meeting

A “History of our Flags” sing-along, led by Marilyn Obermeyer, will take place at the next meeting of the Beechwood Service Guild at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, at the Beechwood Residence, 2235 Millersport Highway, Getzville.

Christmas shopping fundraiser slated

“Shopping at the Christmas Shoppe” will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Heathwood Assisted Living, 815 Hopkins Road, Williamsville. A variety of items including jewelry, assorted Christmas items, purses, crafts and numerous knickknacks will be available for purchase. There also will be a special $1 table. Proceeds from the sale will benefit Heathwood’s Wellness programs for its residents.

St. John youth to host dinner, raffle

The St. John Lutheran Church Youth Group will host a spaghetti dinner and theme basket auction from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, at the church, 6540 Main St., Williamsville. Dinners, which are dine-in or takeout, cost $9 in advance and $10 at the door. WNY Karate to host Wagner book signing

Jessica Wagner, author and illustrator of children’s book “Kitten and the Dojo Code,” will hold book signings at 1:15 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, and 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at Western New York Karate, 4209 Transit Road. There will be readings and kids’ karate at both signings.

St. John to host dinner theater

St. John Lutheran Church, at 6540 Main St. in Williamsville, will host a mystery dinner theater with the production, “Murder at Twin Peaks,” Friday, Nov. 10, and Saturday, Nov. 11. The doors open at 6 p.m., and the dinner and theater will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $35. Cystic Health group plans holiday bazaar

Women Interested in Cystic Health will host a holiday bazaar at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Park Country Club, 4949 Sheridan Drive, Amherst. Some vendors include jewelry, designer bags and clothing, homemade jam, children’s books and handmade pottery. Lunch will be served at noon. For more information, call 634-5455.

Temple to hold Achim Program

The Brotherhood of Temple Beth Zion will hold its free November Achim program at 10 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, in the Meadows Building, located on the second floor at the Weinberg Campus, 2700 N. Forest Road, Getzville. The featured speaker will be Town of Amherst Councilmember Steven Sanders. Sanders will be discussing the 2017 local election results.

Beechwood to host holiday craft sale

A holiday craft sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, in the atrium of Beechwood Homes, 2235 Millersport Highway in Getzville. There will be a variety of items for sale by more than 30 artists, including handcrafted jewelry; jellies and jams; embroidered items; wood crafts; Thanksgiving and Christmas decorations; and more. Proceeds from the holiday craft sale benefit recreation programs for Beechwood residents.

Quota of Amherst to hold fundraiser

Quota International of Amherst will hold a luncheon and basket auction titled “Remembering the ’40s with Quota,” on Saturday, Nov. 4, at The Newman Center at the University at Buffalo, 495 Skinnersville Road, Amherst. Doors will open at 10 a.m., and lunch will be served at 11:45 a.m. There will be more than 100 theme baskets, gift cards and cash prizes. Tickets are presale only and cost $25. Victorian Dance Society to host ball

The Amherst Victorian Dance Society will host its 19th annual Victorian Ball, “Hands Across the Border,” from 6 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at the historic Hamlin House, 432 Franklin St., Buffalo. Also, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the day of the event, there will be a dance workshop, where Cathy Stephens will teach the evening’s dances. The workshop is included with each ticket, which costs $65.
