Amherst Book Club slates meeting

The Amherst Book Club will have its luncheon and meeting at noon Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Fairdale Banquet Center, 672 Wehrle Drive, Williamsville. Fibromyalgia support group to hold meeting

The Fibromyalgia Support Group will be meeting from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at the Amherst Main Library at Audubon in the Study Group Room at 350 John James Audubon Parkway, Amherst. All those with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome or similar concerns are welcome as are family or friends. For questions, contact Susan Stroman at 838-3440.

Church to hold spaghetti dinner

Christ United Methodist Church will host a spaghetti dinner to support clean water wells in Uganda from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 4, at the church, 350 Saratoga Road, Amherst. BNHV sets ‘Victorian Séance Series’

Chicken barbecue slated for Nov. 5

A Chiavetta’s chicken barbecue is planned for 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at Williamsville United Methodist Church, 5681 Main St., at Oakgrove Drive. Dinners will cost $10, with dessert $1 extra. Eat in or take out. For more information, call 634-4800.

Theme basket, gift certificate auction set

St. Stephens Bethlehem Church will host a theme basket and gift certificate auction and dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, at 750 Wehrle Drive, Amherst. The cost for raffle tickets is one sheet of 25 tickets for $5 or three sheets for $10. The cost for dinner is $5 for children ages 3 to 12, $8 for adults and free to children younger than 3. Senior Center to host holiday art show

The Amherst Center for Senior Services will host the Williamsville Art Society’s holiday show and silent auction will open at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at 370 John James Audubon Parkway.

Library slates free yoga in November

The John James Audubon Library will host free yoga at 1 p.m. Sundays this month from Nov. 6 to 27 at 350 John James Audubon Parkway. Classes will be held on the carpeted meeting room floor. Bring a yoga mat for the class. Space is limited, so registration is required in advance. Call to register at 689-4922. All levels of yoga experience will be supported.

Holiday bazaar to be held at Transit Valley

Women Interested in Cystic Health will host a holiday bazaar at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Transit Valley Country Club, 8920 Transit Road, East Amherst. The luncheon will start at noon. The group will be collecting gifts and toys for the Buffalo Women & Children’s Hospital. Vendors will be selling jewelry, cards, holiday decor and more. Call 634-5455 for more information.

La Leche League slates meeting

JCC to host The Mitzvah Project

The Jewish Community Center will host The Mitzvah Project, a theater and lecture experience, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 2640 N Forest Road, Getzville. Actor Roger Grunwald will explore one of the most shocking aspects of the Jewish experience during World War II and will lead a discussion with the audience.

Variety Women plans meeting

Heathwood slates Christmas shopping

Heathwood Assisted Living will host its “Shopping at the Christmas Shop” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, at its assisted living facility, 815 Hopkins Road, Williamsville. There will be a variety of items including jewelry, assorted Christmas items, crafts and a special $1 table.
