Bee Heard

.It’s Monday, Oct. 24, and the village agenda, work session and board meeting minutes are supposed to be posted, and as of 7 a.m. on Monday morning they are still not posted. Village government needs a real shaking up.

.In last week’s Amherst Bee under the police blotter, there were nine notices and, of them, two were people who had things stolen from their cars, both of which were unlocked at the time. When will people ever learn that they need to lock their cars, even in their driveways?

.Amherst has 31 boards and committees. Tonawanda, Cheektowaga and the Town of Greece have only four boards, no committees and certainly no Traffic and Safety Committee. Amherst needs to eliminate the committees, then assign the work to the more than 620 employee workforce. If the Amherst Police Traffic Division enforced traffic laws, there would be little need for the Amherst Traffic Safety Board.
