Williamsville students selected as all-state musicians

Twenty-two performers and five composers were selected to participate in the New York State School Music Association All-State Conference this year.

According to a press release, special recognition goes to Williamsville East High School student Adam Kluge, who was selected both as a performer — tenor in the Mixed Chorus — and composer.

The composers’ works will be featured in a concert on Friday, Dec. 2, at the Riverside Convention Center during the NYSSMA Winter Conference in Rochester.

The performers will appear on stage in the Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre on Saturday, Dec. 3, and Sunday, Dec. 4.

Williamsville East

Connie An, French horn in the Symphonic Band; Jayden Bang, trumpet in the Symphonic Band; Drew Cone, composition; Ray Faran, trombone in the Wind Ensemble; Ellery Farbo, composition; Adam Kluge, composition and tenor in the Mixed Chorus; Maureen Meosky, composition; Priya Pindiprolu, composition; Jennifer Tzetzo, clarinet in the Symphonic Band; Laura Zu, violin in the String Orchestra.

Williamsville North

Julia Behar, oboe in the Symphony Orchestra; Abigail Bilson, clarinet in the Symphonic Band; Nicholas Hutson, trombone in the Symphonic Band; Maddalena Ohrbach, soprano in the Mixed Chorus; Averey Scoccia, violin in the String Orchestra; Nicholas Stanford, jazz drum set in the Vocal Jazz group; T.J. Stroth, percussion in the Symphony Orchestra.

Williamsville South

Robert Adkins, viola in the String Orchestra; Jennie Davis, cello in the String Orchestra; Julianna Gaglinoe, viola in the String Orchestra; Cassandra Girzone, soprano in the Women’s Chorus; Luke Horton, bassoon in the Symphonic Band; Miranda Roberson, flute in the Symphonic Band; Nathan Thomeer, violin in the String Orchestra; Gabriel Wittmer, French horn in the Symphonic Band; Sophie Xu-Friedman, viola in the String Orchestra.
