Town of Amherst offers summer concerts

The Town of Amherst’s Youth and Recreation Department is offering a summer concert series throughout the town.

The Amherst Recreation Concert Series will start at 7 p.m. at Bassett Park, 359 Klein Road at Youngs Road, unless otherwise noted. The concerts in that series are:

Monday, July 4, at University at Buffalo. Friends of Harmony, followed by Erie County Wind Ensemble. Fireworks to follow.

Tuesday, July 5, The Lance Diamond Show

Thursday, July 7, American Legion Band of the Tonawandas

Tuesday, July 12, The Skiffle Minstrels

Thursday, July 14, The Outlyers will perform from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Island Park, 5577 Main St. at Cayuga.

Tuesday, July 19, The Doerfel Family

Thursday, July 21, Tommy Z

Tuesday, July 26, BackBeat ‘64

Thursday, July 28, Exit!

Thursday, Aug. 4, Sentimental Journey

The Family Concert and Entertainment Series schedule is as follows:

Sunday, July 24, In Jest, 3 to 4:30 p.m, as part of Summer Blast, at Clearfield Community Center, 730 Hopkins Road.

Tuesday, Aug. 2, Glenn Colton, 7 to 8:30 p.m., at Creekwood Park, end of Glenhaven and Sundridge. The performance is part of National Night Out, presented by the Amherst Police Club. The Playmobile will be available at 6 p.m., and a bike parade will take place at 6:30 p.m.

Friday, Aug. 5 O’Connell & Company from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Harlem Road Community Center auditorium, 4255 Harlem Road.

Wednesday, Aug. 10, Sunshine and Friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at North Forest Park and Pool, 85 N. Forest Road. Playmobile available at 6 p.m.

The Summer Jazz Festival concerts will run from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bassett Park, 359 Klein Road at Youngs Road.

Wednesday, Aug. 17, Easy Street Big Band

Thursday, Aug. 18, Bobby Militello Quartet
